Empowered to Thrive

Developing Workers exists to help mobilize ministry locally and globally through well-equipped, fully supported leaders.

We hold the deep-seated belief that Christian leaders who are thriving will also be discipling.

Well-equipped leaders who disciple will, in turn, make disciples who will also make disciples.

It’s a ripple effect!

Through the Holy Spirit, a ministry built on this legacy of disciple-making has the power to impact and transform the world for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

And may it be so!

But what about leaders who are struggling?

According to a recent Barna survey of more than 500 American pastors, almost half stated they had given serious thought to stepping out of full-time ministry.

Why?

56% of pastors who considered leaving ministry explained it’s due to the immense stress of the job, and 43% expressed they feel lonely and isolated.

Pastors and other ministry leaders are continually pouring themselves out to others in their community, but few have someone regularly coaching and building them up as they strive to disciple others.

To disciple well and thrive in their roles, leaders need the security and encouragement generated in supportive relationships saturated with grace.

Lack of discipleship is not only connected to a lack of spiritual resources, education, and tools needed to equip leaders to share the gospel message of Jesus.

It is also a lack of mentorship, prayer, encouragement from an authentic source, and one-on-one accountability.

Developing Workers pours into pastors and leaders through life-on-life encouragement, coaching and development, and the empowerment to live out their specific mission, vision, and values.

Margin: A Word for Leaders

Whether you’re a ministry leader yourself, want to share this video with one you know, or are a weary brother or sister in need of spurring on, we trust this video will encourage you.

Now, let’s pray!

D.L. Moody says, “The preaching that this world needs most is the sermon in shoes that are walking with Jesus.”

Pray for your pastors and ministry leaders to be filled to full in their walk with Christ.

Pray for rest and the yoke of Jesus over your pastors and ministry leaders.

Pray for wisdom, discernment, encouragement in the Spirit, and unified vision over your church leadership.

Pray for the protection of marriages and the families of your pastors and ministry leaders.

Pray 1 Corinthians 15:58 over your pastors and ministry leaders, that they would remain confident their work for the Lord is not in vain. “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Pray 2 Timothy 4:2 over your pastors and ministry leaders, that they would “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”

Pray that God would grow your pastors and ministry leaders to be like Jeremiah 3:5, “shepherds after [God’s] own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.”
