The need for pastoral mentorship is great in the lives of many pastors, yet finding a safe place to process and receive their own discipleship can be a challenge for some.
Hear the story of a pastor in Malawi, Africa who needed look no further than an internet search to find mentorship through our team at Developing Workers:
Pastor Rabson from Malawi leads his congregation, coordinates local orphan care, and is the chairperson of an active group of pastors and church leaders in his area.
He sees the need for mentorship and training in his own life and in the lives of the church leadership of his region. But where to find it?
Pastor Rabson took the initiative and searched online for “Leadership. Pastors. Training.” Developing Workers was first on the list.
After he reached out to our team seeking to connect, the Lord began a good work in His life and in preparation for more equipping of the church leaders in Malawi.
This has led to a mentor relationship for Pastor Rabson with our team by Zoom meetings. He is now translating a portion of discipleship materials and the Leaders’ Guide to the local Chewa language to share. There is a training scheduled this month with a group of pastors near him. And he has a network of 3,000 pastors that he wants to engage with Developing Workers over time.
Praise God for good fruit in the wake of globalization and increased access to technology!
Pray with us for more training, equipping, and disciple-making in the nation of Malawi.
