Amazing Reports from Cambodia, Poland, & Nigeria

Our Foundations Trainers have been hard at work in active ministry around the globe, and it’s also a joy to see an Ambassador beginning implementing what our Trainers have taught him in Nigeria!

Hear their stories, and join us in prayer.

Reflections from Cambodia

We are so thankful for ministry partners like Global Surge!

The first week of September found Trainers Greg Jones and Matt Swartz back in Cambodia.

The goal: build on the training we did last year in Cambodia with these leaders and help them focus on implementation.

It was an amazing week together, and some of the best moments were the conversations that happened over meals together as the training was held in the same location as before.

During the course of the week together, we were able to focus on leadership training, having a clear picture of a discipleship pipeline, deep diving into the Foundations Discipleship Material, and evaluating ministries within their churches to see if they build a discipleship culture.

As always, the conversations that happen around tables creates a buzz as the leaders learn and grow together.

One young leader, Por Heng, served as our translator along with his brother. He has been faithfully serving at his church, and now has been asked to step in as interim pastor as his current pastor will be moving. The relationship we built in Cambodia continues through Facebook Messenger and the ministry of encouragement carries on.

Please continue to pray for the leaders in Cambodia that they would invest in multiplying disciple-making ministries.

Pray for our continued discussions with Global Surge about ministry in Cambodia, and hopefully Thailand, next year.

Please pray for two of the leaders who are planning to continue training more rural pastors through the Foundations Workshops. They have a network of 30 pastors that they are planning to begin Workshop One with! Praise God!

Celebrating Nigeria

We also are celebrating Pastor Blessing in Nigeria who has now trained 4 groups of pastors in the south of Nigeria.

Here, he led in the Foundations Discipleship Workshops, while he is also leading a Foundations Discipleship group in his local church!

How exciting to see how God has captured the heart of this leader, and what a joy to continue connecting with him and encouraging him as he seeks to multiply disciples!

Please pray for great fruit in the lives and ministries of these beloved Nigerian brothers and sisters.

Ministry in Poland

For the first half of October, Matt and Onalee Swartz headed back to Poland.

This time, our team met a Short-Term Missions Team from Calvary Church of Roseville, MN.

The goal of this team: Prayer!

Much time was spent specifically in intercessory prayer for God to breakthrough Poland through the power of the Gospel.

Over the course of the 10 days together, this team prayed over global workers, national leaders, did prayer walks in cities in two cities, and prayed for over 200 pastors, leaders and staff by name who were attending the 3rd Annual Evangelical Poland conference in Warsaw.

What was so special for our team as they led was to clearly see the Holy Spirit uniting and guiding all in prayer together again and again.

One of the most special moments was in the city of Szczecin. The team took a 3 hour train ride to connect with a global worker family who are new to Poland. They are working with Pastor Robert who is a mighty man of faith. Pastor Robert has faced tremendous challenges in his church, and so they were thrilled to have him and his two young adult sons join for dinner that evening. As they enjoyed the time with the Martinez family and Pastor Robert and his sons, the team invited Pastor Robert and his sons to be prayed over. What a mighty time of prayer that took place!

The next morning, Pastor Robert shared how deeply meaningful this time of prayer was for his sons who do not have any Christian community on their lives.

As our team continues to invest in seeing a God-sized movement and breakthrough of the Gospel in Poland, we believe that God continues to open new doors and ministry opportunities for us there with Developing Workers.

Please pray specifically for the translation of our first Discipleship book into Polish as a result of a divine meeting with a Christian tour guide in Warsaw.

Also, please continue for the ministry leaders we continue to in way in that God would both strengthen them and encourage them.

Developing Workers exists to equip leaders locally and globally for the work of discipleship.

Foundations is the arm of DW that aims to respond to the large gap in discipleship resources and training for ministry leaders locally and globally.  We provide free training workshops, free discipleship material, and ongoing coaching and mentoring to help pastors identify and equip leaders in their churches who will help multiply a disciple-making movement through their church.

This work is both fueled and funded by friends of our ministry.

Thanks to our community of partners like you, all financial contributions quickly transform into pastoral training, service opportunities, coaching and mentorship, special projects in underserved communities, and impactful resources that all bring us one step closer to ending discipleship poverty.

We’re so grateful for you!
