Paul begins his second letter to the Thessalonian church with words that have been stirring in our hearts:
“We ought always to give thanks to God for you.”
Before Paul addresses needs, challenges, or future work, he stops to thank God for people—for their growing faith, increasing love, and steadfast endurance.
That is where we want to begin this year-end journey.
We thank God for you.
We thank God for every ministry leader who keeps showing up. We thank God for every spouse who carries the unseen weight of ministry. We thank God for every coach and mentor who listens carefully, speaks courage, and walks beside a leader over time.
And we thank God for every person who prays, gives, serves, and believes that transformed leaders can transform generations.
The Ripple Continues
One of the greatest signs of healthy discipleship isn’t what happens while we’re there—it’s what continues after we leave.
Recently, we received two incredible reports from Kenya that reminded us why Developing Workers exists.
Michael and our team aren’t on the ground there right now, yet discipleship is continuing to multiply because faithful local leaders are now investing in others.
This is exactly what we’ve prayed for.
Pastor Godwin Masayio of Namayiana Baptist Church was once discipled by Rev. Momboshi. Today, Pastor Godwin is leading one of the largest congregations in the region while faithfully discipling others himself.
What began with one leader pouring into another has become a ripple effect that continues to impact lives and communities.
We received another exciting report: after receiving discipleship training through Developing Workers, local leaders have now planted 19 churches in surrounding communities.
As those churches have grown, leadership has been entrusted to four Senior Reverends who now oversee four independent regions:
- Rev. Kinoya — North Region
- Rev. Gissa — Central Region
- Rev. Kaseenji — South Region
- Rev. Koinari — Western Region
These leaders are not dependent on Developing Workers.
They have been discipled, equipped, and entrusted with the mission. Now they are faithfully doing the same for others.
Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 2:2 come to life:
“Entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
This is why we disciple.
Not so people become dependent on us, but so they become equipped to faithfully lead others.
The goal has never been simply to build a ministry. The goal is to see disciple-making movements take root and continue long after we leave.
This is how the Kingdom often advances—not through a single dramatic moment, but through faithful relationships.
So today, we want to say what Paul said:
We thank God for you.
Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for walking alongside Developing Workers. Your investment is bearing fruit that remains.
Because of your partnership, leaders are being cared for and equipped. Churches are multiplying. Leaders are discipling leaders.
And the ripple continues.
