God at Work Locally and Globally

One of the things Developing Workers has been praying about for some time is how we can better minister to and care for pastors’ wives and women in ministry.

As we walk alongside ministry leaders locally and globally, we are continually reminded that caring for the heart of the leader also means caring for the family and those serving beside them. Pastor’s wives often carry tremendous responsibility while quietly supporting the work of ministry, and we desire to come alongside them with encouragement, discipleship, and support.

We are grateful to see how God has already begun raising up people around us who share this vision. Please pray with us that God would continue to secure and confirm the right individuals to help lead and shape this ministry opportunity. Our hope is to offer meaningful care for pastor’s wives and women in ministry through one-on-one mentoring, small groups, and even future retreats designed to refresh and encourage them in their calling.

“With God all things are possible”  -Matthew 19:26

As we are praying over this new opportunity with women in ministry, we are also praising God for the work He continues to do in Kenya.

What began with discipling pastors has grown into discipling leaders within communities who could then become church planters themselves. Through God’s faithfulness, these leaders have multiplied the work by planting churches throughout the region. Since we began partnering with them, more than 67 churches have been planted.

Over the last three years, we have also been teaching and discussing what it means not only to plant churches, but to become a sending movement — raising up missionaries who can go and disciple leaders in other nations.

We are excited to share that we are partnering with Global Surge and the Indian Ocean Initiative (IOI) to help send leaders from Kenya into other countries around the Indian Ocean region. Three men have already committed to taking this next step and preparing to be sent out to disciple and train church leaders internationally.

What a beautiful picture of multiplication: disciples making disciples, churches planting churches, and now leaders being sent to reach even more nations with the hope of Christ.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support that make these partnerships and opportunities possible. We are continually humbled to witness how God is raising up healthy leaders who will impact generations to come.
