DW Spotlight: Peter Gonzalez

Peter’s journey to becoming a Discipleship Coach at Developing Workers is one marked by transformation and purpose. His story reflects not only personal growth but a heartfelt commitment to supporting pastors and ministry leaders.

A Journey of Growth and Mentorship

Peter’s connection with Developing Workers began with the guidance and mentorship of Michael Parker, the founder of DW. Over the years, Michael invested in Peter’s development, consistently speaking grace and truth over him. He encouraged Peter to embrace the leader God called him to be, while also pouring into Peter’s personal life. This nurturing relationship laid the foundation for Peter’s growth as a ministry leader and helped him reach milestones he once thought unattainable. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without Michael,”  Peter shares.

A Heart for the Local Church

Take Courage to Create Change:

As God worked in Peter’s life, He grew a deep-seated passion for the local church. Peter recognized that many pastors and ministry leaders lacked meaningful relationships—relationships that are up close, personal, and built over time. He saw that leaders needed someone to love, challenge, encourage, and champion them for who they are. This realization sparked a desire in Peter to step in and fill that gap.

“I want to see pastors lead their churches from a place of health,” Peter explains. “I want to help ministry leaders understand how God uniquely designed them to lead so they can multiply their ministries effectively. It’s not just about the work they do but who they are as individuals.”

Joining the DW Team

Peter’s commitment to discipleship and leadership aligned perfectly with DW’s mission of life-on-life discipleship. He believes that this emphasis is the game changer churches need. By joining the DW team as a Discipleship Coach, Peter continues to pursue the fulfillment of the Great Commission—one leader at a time, one relationship at a time.

Peter’s story is a testament to how mentorship, personal development, and a passion for others’ growth come together to make a lasting impact. Through his work with Developing Workers, he aims to help ministry leaders thrive, fostering a ripple effect that extends throughout their churches and communities.

“I love the fact that Peter has a passion for seeing people take steps in their personal discipleship journey. I also love his passion to mobilize and equip the local church in developing a plan and strategy for their church to see disciples multiply. His love for people and the local church inspires me!”

“Peter is a true discipler. His heart and passion to see people meet, know, and follow Jesus is evident in his relationships. Peter has had the opportunity to develop followers of Christ to be servants of Christ. He has a love of God’s Word and a gift for teaching it, which is a blessing to the local church.”

“Peter’s passion for Jesus is evident and holy. He is a bold believer and seeks to share Jesus with everyone he encounters. God has blessed him with words to be able to preach and the heart to love those around him. I know he is making a huge difference in the lives he is ministering to and will only continue.”

Peter’s journey reminds us that investing in leaders can change lives and entire communities. We are grateful for his dedication and the way he embodies the mission of Developing Workers. Together, we celebrate his story and look forward to the continued impact he will make.
